Deerlady is Mali Obomsawin and Magdalena Abrego. On the duo's debut album Greatest Hits, we feel tremors and transformations in a perfectly-crafted universe of experimental shoegaze. In eight songs, we witness a precious softness that emerges from seas of rage and heartache – a throughline of hope that seems to flower over a bedrock of anti-colonial collaboration.

UMBRELLA PINE

Since first meeting at Berklee College of Music in 2013, Magdalena Abrego and Allison Burik have cultivated their sound as a duo in a project titled Umbrella Pine. By utilizing a combination of alto saxophone, bass clarinet, electric guitar, and electronics, the two seek to explore possibilities within improvisation and composition. Their most recent release, Seven, consists of original compositions inspired by tarot cards and other occult themes.
